Our Journey

OVERCOMING EMPLOYMENT BARRIERS, CREATING OPPORTUNITIES, & TRANSFORMING LIVES

Love What You Do Manchester is a community interest company that launched during the later part of 2020 to provide Rochdale and other towns in Greater Manchester with cost-free employment support tutorials and CV-writing service.

UK government national statistics highlighted that many neighbourhoods within these regions are categorised as being within the top 10% most-deprived in England. Poverty and unemployment are high, household incomes are low, education opportunities are fewer, and individuals face greater employment barriers and other disadvantages.

Our discussions with local people confirmed these difficulties and it became clear that they were in need of additional support to overcome their unique challenges and inequalities.

In collaboration with local people, we have developed an employment support service that:
– Assists with the production of a high-quality, personalised CV
– Strengthens motivation and self-confidence needed during demanding recruitment processes
– Helps people overcome their barriers to employment.

OUR AIMS

SHORT-TERM AIMS

We aim to;
– Motivate and encourage our beneficiaries to take action to achieve their employment objectives
– Build our beneficiaries’ self-confidence through strengthening of existing employability skills and key skills, and by
highlighting individual strengths and unique qualities, so that they approach recruitment processes with positivity
– Overcome any inequalities and employment disadvantages/barriers facing each of our beneficiaries
– Develop a high-quality and effective CV with each of our beneficiaries that reflects their true capabilities and gives
them greater employment opportunities
– Support our beneficiaries to obtain full or part-time employment, voluntary work, or job interviews.

LONG-TERM AIM

We aim to:
Reduce unemployment, deprivation, inequalities, and poverty throughout Greater Manchester for public benefit,
and inspire individuals residing in this region to fulfil their potential.

Our Mission

To prevent and alleviate unemployment and poverty in Greater Manchester communities by providing free education and employment support, and by raising aspirations.

Our Values

We believe in treating every individual with respect, fostering potential, encouraging confidence, and creating opportunities for all, ensuring a holistic and supportive approach in all our services.
